Browser settings for Internet Explorer 9 for a PC

Rakuten LinkShare supports Internet Explorer 6, 7, 8, and 9, and in general we recommend publishers use Internet Explorer.

If you are using Internet Explorer 8 and are having problems registering with Rakuten LinkShare or logging into Rakuten LinkShare, you may need to adjust your browser settings. Please try these steps:

If you have problems registering:

  1. Click on the Tools button:
  2. Select Internet Options
  3. Click on the Privacy tab
  4. Click on Sites
  5. If "linksynergy.com" is blocked then remove it from the list.
  6. Type in "linksynergy.com" and click Allow
  7. Click OK
  8. Click OK once more to close your Internet Options
  9. Restart your browser

If you have problems logging in:

I. Allow LinkShare cookies

  1. Click on the Tools button:
  2. Click Internet Options
  3. Click the Privacy tab
  4. In the Settings section at the top, move the bar to Medium
  5. If you have XP Service Pack 2, the section below Settings will say Pop-up Blocker 
  6. Select the Pop-up Blocker checkbox and click the Settings button
  7. Add linkshare.com and linksynergy.com to the Address of WebSite to Allow box
  8. Click Add
  9. Click on the Security tab
  10. Click on the Trusted Sites button
  11. Click on Sites
  12. Add linkshare.com and linksynergy.com in the box
  13. Click Add
  14. Click Close
  15. Click OK

II. Clear the Cache:

  1. Click on the Tools button:
  2. Click Internet Options
  3. Click the General tab
  4. Under Browsing History, click Delete (This may take time if you have never done it)
  5. Click OK

III. Adjust Advanced Settings:

  1. Click on the Tools button:
  2. Click Internet Options
  3. Click the Advanced tab
  4. In the Settings window, scroll down to the Security section and check off the following boxes: 
               Use SSL 2.0
               Use SSL 3.0
               Use TLS 1.0
  5. Click OK

IV. Adjust Security Settings:

  1. Click on the Tools button:
  2. Click Internet Options
  3. Click Security
  4. Click Internet
  5. If "Security Level for this Zone" is set to something other than Medium-High, click Default Level
  6. Click Restricted Sites
  7. Be sure linksynergy.com is not listed. Delete if present.
  8. Click OK

This completes your browser adjustment. Please exit all open windows and restart Internet Explorer. You are now ready to log in to your Rakuten LinkShare account.
